DUSHANBE, March 4, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Three Tajik boxers will participate in the Ipek Yolu (Great Silk Road) international boxing tournament that will take place in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan from March 8 to March 13 this year, Jaloliddin Nourov, an aide to the chairman of the Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism Affairs, said.
“Jahon Qurbonov, Anvar Yunusov and Sunatullo Jabborov will participate in the tournament that is expected to bring together boxers from Russia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey and some other countries,” Nourov noted.
According to the statistical data from the Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism Affairs, Tajik athletes participate in 47 various international competitions last year and won 66 gold, 61 silver and 92 bronze medals.
