DUSHANBE, November 14, 2014, Asia-Plus - Associated Press reports Khurshed Beknazarov, a soccer player from Tajikistan, has been banned for two years by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for a doping violation during the men''s football competition at the Asian Games.
Beknazarov reportedly tested positive for the banned substance methylhexanamine after the September 14 match against Singapore.
He had been provisionally suspended after the positive test and disqualified from the Asian Games.
The test results were forwarded to authorities in Tajikistan as well as to world soccer’s governing body, FIFA; the Asian Football Confederation; and the World Anti-Doping Agency.
