Tajik authorities have cancelled the double payment of customs duties on holiday weekends and outside working hours.
In a report released at a news conference in Dushanbe, the head of the Customs Service under the Government of Tajikistan, Khurshed Karimzoda, noted that earlier, when registering customs procedures for the import, export and transit of goods outside working hours or outside the customs control area, customs duty has been charged in double amount
“We have abolished this requirement, entrepreneurs, especially exporters of agricultural goods, will now pay customs duty only once during customs clearance,” Karimzoda noted.
According to him, this decision will speed up the process of passing customs procedures and facilitate the work of businessmen.
Azerbaijani news agency Trend noted on July 9 that the standard customs tariff in Tajikistan on weekdays ranges from 10 to 450 U.S. dollars depending on the total value of imported goods.
