Talco Cable Industries top managers deny report that Emomali Rahmon’s son Somon Emomali was appointed deputy director general of the enterprise as absolutely “baseless.”

“We heard such rumors but they are absolutely unfounded.  He (Somon Emomali) does not work with the enterprise,” an official source at the Talco Cable Industries personnel management department told Asia-Plus in an interview.

According to him, the deputy director of the enterprise is Kholimsho Ahmadov.

Meanwhile, the Prague-based website akhbor.com had earlier reported that the 21-year-old Somon Emomali was appointed Deputy Director-General of Talco Cable Industries immediately after graduating from university.

“President Emomali Rahmon’s younger son has worked as Deputy Director-General of Talco Cable Industries for already three months,” akhbor.com reported on October 11.

Rustam Emomali (L) and Somon Emomali

There is little information about Rahmon’s younger son Somon Emomali.  In 2012, being the 7th grade student at Dushanbe International School Somon Emomali reportedly won gold medal at the International IT Olympiad in Bucharest, Romania.

Together with another school student Isrofil Ismoilov Somon Emomali reportedly compiled an electronic dictionary in fur languages: Tajik, Russia, English and Turkish.

Established by the Tajik Aluminum Company (TALCO) in 2011, Talco Cable Industries (Nokili Talco Ltd) is a cable producing plant located in Dushanbe.  The company manufactures a wide range of cabling products, which meet requirements of international quality standards.
