An international marathon took place in Dushanbe on Saturday, June 4 in the frame of the Second High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028.”
The participants could run full marathon (42.2 km) or a symbolic distance of six kilometers dedicated to the Sustainability Development Goal (SDG) 6, which is aimed at ensuring access to water and sanitation for all.
The marathon reportedly started at Sarob Hotel in Khoja Obigarm at 3:00 am and ended at the northern gate of Istiqlol Park at 9:00.
The second international marathon will take place in Dushanbe on June 9. It will start at Hyatt Regency Dushanbe Hotel at 5:00 and will end after overcoming 42.2 kilometers toward Vahdat Town.
