DUSHANBE, October 2, Asia-Plus - A concert of Tajikistan’s chamber ensemble “Harmonia Mundi” dedicated to the 100 th anniversary of internationally known composer Dmitri Shostakovich was held at the Opera and Ballet Theatre in Dushanbe on October 1.
Tolib Shahidi, the head and conductor of the ensemble, said fragments from works by the composer as well as works by Tajik composers dedicated to the prominent composer were performed by students from Tajikistan’s National Conservatoire and the Republican Musical School named after Ziyodullo Shahidi.
Besides, variations on melodies by Ramazan Abdulatipov, Russian Ambassador to Tajikistan, were also performed during the concert.
The event was held with support of the Russian Embassy in Dushanbe.
