DUSHANBE, October 13, Asia-Plus -- A four-day training session on the repair of musical instruments concluded at the Gurminj Museum of Musical Instrument in Dushanbe yesterday.
Museum director Iqbol Zavqibekov said in an interview with Asia-Plus that British expert Andrew
Crimshaw led the training. A large number of local specialists participated in the training. ’Some people brought their musical instruments and Andrew repaired them free of charge,” Zavqibekov said. “Many musicians learned how to repair their instruments themselves.”
Participants also discussed how to enhance the sound of the musical instruments.
The training was a joint project of the museum and Restorers Without Borders.
