DUSHANBE , April 12, Asia-Plus - Dodikhudo Saymuddinov, head of the Majlisi Namoyandagon ( Tajikistan ’s lower chamber of parliament) Committee for Science, Education and Youth Policy, has participated at an experts’ meeting of the 4 th Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference of the Conference of the Islamic Conference (OIC)

The experts'' meeting of the 4th OIC Parliamentary Speakers'' Conference and the 14th meeting of the Executive Committee of the OIC Parliaments'' Union kicked off separately in Istanbul on Saturday [April 8].

According to information from the Majlisi Namoyandagon, the meeting considered issues related to the Islamic world, blasphemy on religious sanctities and the Middle East problems.  support for the Palestinian people.

 The 4th two-day Parliamentary Speakers'' Conference of the Organization of the Islamic Conference opened in Istanbul on Wednesday April 12.  The conference is supposed to result in launch of appeal to the West’s countries calling for combing efforts in the fight against Islamophobia and showing respect for Islam, according to the source.  The draft appeal published in the Turkish press, in particular, contains appeal to the UN Security Council asking to adopt a special resolution in connection with recent “cartoon crisis” caused by publication of cartoons depicting Prophet Muhammad in some newspapers.  

The OIC Parliaments'' Union was established in Tehran upon the initiative of Iran in 1999.  Its second and third sessions were held in Morocco and Senegal in 2001 and 2004, respectively.
