DUSHANBE, October 4, Asia-Plus - An official presentation of report on mother and child health in Tajikistan was held in Dushanbe on October 4.
The document has been worked out by the country’s State Committee for Statistics in cooperation with the UNICEF Country Office in Tajikistan. The report is a result of a two-month survey on state and health of women and children in the republic that was conducted in August and September this year.
Telling the report-presenting ceremony, Mirgand Shabozov, the head of Tajikistan’s State Committee for Statistics, noted that data on state and health of women and children provided in the report are preliminary. According to him, the report will be submitted for consideration to the government for further prognosis and improvement of state and health of women and children in the country.
“I consider we have done a big work and our task was to collect these data,” said Shabozov, “We have tried to reflect the entire situation with life of children and women across the republic, including remote areas.”
