DUSHANBE, March 12, Asia-Plus -- Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev has endorsed a plan of actions on raising legal awareness of the population, according to mayoral press service.  

Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushnabe mayor, said that the plan envisages holding of a series of meetings with officers from the Dushanbe police directorate on issues related to work on applications lodged by residents as well as meetings with residents of the city, parishioners of mosques and staffers of enterprises and organizations to explain them requirements of the country’s Administrative, Housing, Land, Tax and Customs Codes as well as laws on military service, education, inspection of economic entities, protection of entrepreneurship, protection of consumer’s rights and president’s decrees on voluntary handover of weapons, and measures to fight drug trafficking.     

According to the spokesman, it is also planned to broadcast information about trials on drug-trafficking crimes on national TV and radio.  

Besides, essay contests on the subjects of “Drug Addiction and Its Effect”, “Drug Addiction – Plague of the Century”, Our Goal to Create Healthy Society” will be conducted among students at educational facilities in Dushanbe.   

“The Dushanbe TV channel Poytakht is scheduled to broadcast a series of programs on activity and goals of the outlawed religious extremist Hizb ut-Tahrir organization,” said the spokesman, “Clerics and specialists in Islamic studies will be invited to take part in these programs.”   

The results of the mentioned plan will be summed up at the 12th session of the Dushanbe legislature (Majlis).
