Tajik Sportsmen won two gold medals on XVII Combat Sambo World Championship among men in Moscow. The next aim is Open Pan-America Championship in the USA.
The Last XVII Combat Sambo World Championship on version of WCSF was dedicated to 105-years from the date of birth of the one of Founder of Sambo – Anatoliy Arkadievich Harlampiev.
The aim of Championship was popularization and development of Combat Sambo in Russia and in the World in order to include new sports in Olympic program.
In Championship participated 56 sportsmen from 15 countries of the World.
On this Championship Tajikistan was represented mainly by fighters of the League of Combat Sambo and the Mix Fight of the Republic of Tajikistan under supervision of Ahtam Hokirov. Strengthened their tactical and technical skills under supervision of Hokirov, as well as Dagestan specialists Ruslan Magomedov and Nurmagomed Gajiev, fighting, our sportsmen showed great skills.
In the weight category 68 kg has successfully performed the multiple winner and medal winner of international tournaments, participant of “Ismoil Somoni Cup” in Dushanbe, Shohin Safarov. Shohin has recently won silver medal at CIS Cup on jiu-jitsu. And now – he again won “silver”.
The same medal won another Tajik fighter – young, but experienced Mahmadsafar Mahmadrasulov.
According to Ahtam Hokirov, our Sambo fighters after a short rest began to train again.
-We will get ready to competitions in the USA, - said the coach. - From 5th to 6th May of this year in New York will be Open Championship of Pan-America among adult and juniors (USA Open) on Combat Sambo. We have to combat with fighters from the USA, Brazil, Mexico, Columbia, Spain. We have already participated at this Championship and had achievements. I think this time our fighters will perform worthily and will back home with medals”.
