Dushanbe. 7 September. “Asia Plus” -- The famous sportsman from Tajikistan Jahon Kurbanov won the bronze medal in the Asian Championship in boxing, which ended on September 5 in Thailand.
As reports the press service of the National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan, Tajik boxer Jahon Kurbanov, competing at a weight of 91-kilogram, lost to Vasily Levit (Kazakhstan) in semifinal battle. In the first round Levit seemed clearly more active and more accurate, and that did not go unnoticed by any of the three judges - each gave 10:9 in favor of Kazakhstan citizen. In the second three minutes also lead Kazakh boxer. Levit controlled the match and did not allow judges to doubt in his superiority - 10:9, 10:9, 10:8. In the third round Levi also dominated on the ring, also by unanimous decision of judges.
The Kazakh team won the first team place at the Asian Championship. On account of Kazakh boxers there are five gold, one silver and one bronze awards. Second place went to the team of Uzbekistan, which won two gold, five silver and one bronze medals. And the third were the hosts; Thai boxers won two awards at the highest standard.
Now the teams will focus on preparing for the World Cup, which will be opened in Doha (Qatar) on the 5th of October and there will be awarded the Olympic license.
