DUSHANBE, February 13, Asia-Plus - According to prognosis by the Moscow-based “Popular League “Tajiks” public organization, a number of Tajik guest workers staying in the Russian Federation will have reached 2 million people this year, deputy chairman of Tajikistan’s Democratic Party (DPT), Rahmatullo Valiyev, remarked at a news conference in Dushanbe on February 13.  

According to him, annually 150-200 Tajik labor migrants are missing.  Besides, 3,000-3,500 Tajik migrants annually go on trial in the Russian Federation without any guilt and are given from one to 12 years in prison.  

Over the first eleven months of last year alone, Russian authorities had returned to Tajikistan 246 bodies of migrant workers, according to him.
