DUSHANBE, February 24, Asia-Plus  -- Verkhovnaya Rada (Ukraine’s parliament) has adopted the law on ratification of an agreement on friendship and cooperation between Ukraine and Tajikistan, the URA-Inform news agency reported.  

Of 395 parliamentarians registered in the hall, 240 voted for ratification of the agreement.  The document, in particular, says that it is concluded for the purpose of expanding economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries.  

The agreement is liable to ratification and it comes into effect as of the date of exchange of ratification notes.  After it comes into effect the agreement will be registered at the UN Secretariat in accordance with Article 102 of the UN Charter.
