DUSHANBE, March 7, Asia-Plus  -- An agreement on producing banknotes, developing numismatic market, as well as minting collection and jubilee coins was reached at the14th session of heads of central banks from ember nations of the Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC) that was held in the Belarus capital on February 27-28.  

The session brought together senior representatives of central banks from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.  The EAEC general secretary Grigory Rapota also took part in the session’s work.  

Tajikistan’s central bank head Murodali Alimardonov gave a paper at the Minsk session on monetary policy of the member states of the EAEC, its development and implementation.  

According to information from the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT), on the results of the meeting Uzbekistan’s central bank was admitted to the Agreement on the EAEC Council of Heads of Central Banks  

The source says the session also considered further development of the Community’s monetary cooperation, including use of national currencies in mutual accountings between the member nations of the Community.  The session also took a decision on a joint fight against production of false money, exchange of information on this matter between banks of the EAEC countries.  

Besides, participants at the meeting also considered the possibility of introduction of the single EAEC currency in future.  The single currency is one of key objectives outlined in Minsk but it will be really considered only after 2010, according to the NBT source.   

National bank heads also discussed measures on harmonization of systems of ensuring safety of deposits of physical entities in financial organizations of the Community in accordance with international standards.
