Japan’s Government provides over US$1,163,3800 for renovating schools and medical facilities in Tajikistan

, March 28, Asia-Plus - A ceremony of signing by the Embassy of Japan of grant-contracts the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects of the Government of Japan was held at the “Kayon” Hotel in
Dushanbe
today morning.
Under these grant-contracts the Japanese Embassy extended the grants of US$1,163,3800 to enhance education, health and agrarian sectors in
Tajikistan
. The funds will go to implementing fourteen projects aimed at construction, renovation and rehabilitation of secondary schools, healthcare facilities, irrigation systems and infrastructure in various regions of the republic.
Under the Grant Assistance for Grass Roots Human Security Projects, the Government of Japan has extended the total grant of US$10,603,261 to 178 projects to support a variety of humanitarian and development activities of local governments, local and international NGOs in Tajikistan since 1996.
