DUSHANBE, April 7, Asia-Plus - Iranian company “Ob Poui” (phonetically spelled) intends to allot US$400,000 in no-strings aid to “Dushanbevodokanal” (DVK – Dushanbe waterworks), Akobir Ashurov, a spokesman for Dushanbe works, said.  

According to him, senior representatives from the Iranian company said this at a meeting with the DVK leadership in Dushanbe on April 6.  

During the meeting it was noted that thereby the Iranian company intended to support provision of the Dushanbe population with safe drinking water.   

“It was also noted that Iranian specialists will arrive in Dushanbe in the second half of May to familiarize themselves with activity of the city’s waterworks and to study existing problems facing the Dushanbe water supply system,” Akobir Ashurov said, noting that an agreement on allotting these funds is expected to be signed in early summer. 

ABOUT: “Ob Poui” is a private dealing with water supply issues in Iran having support of the Iranian government.  This company has already implemented water supply projects in Afghanistan and Lebanon .
