“Tojiksodirotbonk” to help newly-married couples set up dwelling 

DUSHANBE , April 18, Asia-Plus -- “Tojiksodirotbonk” has launched mortgage crediting “Young Family” program.  

According to information from the bank’s loan department, six mortgage loans for a total amount of US$47,000 and 128,000 Somonis (equivalent to some US$40,000) have been opened under this program.   

The program gives newly married couples an opportunity to get a loan up to US$30,000 for purchasing dwelling.  The loans carry an annual interest rate of 25 percent are repayable over five years, according to the source.  

  In the meantime, according to information from the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT), Tajikistan ’s central bank in cooperation with the government is currently working out a draft program for development of mortgage crediting in the republic.  

The draft program is supposed to be endorsed already in the autumn this year.  Experts point to the necessity of creating institutional, legal and socioeconomic conditions for development of a mortgage market in Tajikistan .
