Over 850 crimes reported in Tajik capital over the first three months

, April 19, Asia-Plus - 853 crimes have been registered in
Dushanbe
in January-March this year, Jaloliddin Sadriddinov, a spokesman for the
Dushanbe
police directorate, said.
According to him, 689 crimes have been solved and a crime detection rate for this period has amounted to 93.6 percent.
All eight murders registered over the same three-month period have been solved, the
Dushanbe
police directorate spokesman said.
Besides, 42 cases of drug trafficking have been reported in the Tajik capital over the first quarter of the year. Some 100 kilograms of drugs, with 61 percent of them being heroin, have been intercepted in
Dushanbe
in January-March 2006.
In January-March this year, officers from the
Dushanbe
police directorate have seized 42 unit of firearms. The totaled included 14 sub-machine guns, 17 pistols, as well as three grenade launchers and 2,400 bullets of different caliber.
