Tajik industries minister claims that Tajik textiles not inferior to the foreign ones

may compete with the foreign textiles, Industries Minister Zayd Saidov remarked at a news conference on April 18.
“The only thing preventing realization of it in the republic is Chinese product manufactured from synthetic materials, which is available for all,” the minister said, noting that
Tajikistan
does not have equipment for manufacturing synthetic materials.
“To date, the JV “Guliston” has opened its shops in various cities of
Russia
for realizing its output,” said Saidov, “And their output is much in demand there.”
The minister also noted that a number of new cotton-ginning factories would be constructed in
Tajikistan
. Such factories will operate in Yovon, Mastchohi Kuhiston and Sarband, according to him.
Zayd Saidov noted that Tajik-Polish JV “Bofanda” launched on the basis of the joint-stock company “Textiles” in
Dushanbe
was put into operation in March this year. The rated capacity of the first stage of the enterprise is processing of 6,000 tons of cotton a year, according to the minister. The establishment of the JV “Bofanda” consists of four stages and it will be completely finished in 2007.
