U.S. investors interested in cooperation on mining precious metals in Tajikistan, says industries minister

, April 19, Asia-Plus - American company “Comsap” intends to invest US$50 million in prospecting for gold and silver in the northern district of Ayni, Industries Minister Zayd Saidov remarked at a news conference in
Dushanbe
on April 18.
According to him, a preliminary agreement on this subject was reached during a recent visit of Tajik delegation to the
United States
. “In the course of negotiations American investors have shown interest in launching joint ventures on mining and on processing of cotton,” said Zayd Saidov, “In near future,

experts will arrive in

to discuss the set tasks.”
The “Comsap” company has already been operating in

, the company has launched the JV “Anzob” (Ayni district) on production of mercury and antimony concentrates, which are later processed in
