DUSHANBE, April 24, Asia-Plus -- A large cache containing 53 kilograms of drugs has been discovered at the Tajik-Afghan border in the Shuroobod district of Khatlon, according to information from Tajik Drug Control Agency (DCA).
Avaz Yuldoshev, a spokesman for DCA, says the cache was discovered in a joint operation carried out by officers from the Shuroobod drug-control directorate and Tajik border troops in the mountain area of Shuroobod on the night of April 23-24.
14.30 kilograms of heroin, more than 27 kilograms of hashish and 11.50 kilograms of raw opium had been extracted from the hide, according to the DCA spokesman.
