DUSAHNBE, April 27, Asia-Plus - On Thursday April 27, the Kazakh Embassy in Dushanbe hosted a news conference on occasion of the upcoming official visit of President Rahmonov to Kazakhstan , which set for early May.

Speaking to journalists, Kazakh Ambassador to Tajikistan Yerlan Abildayev noted that friendly relationships have been established between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan over the past 15 years, since the two countries gained independence. 

“These relationships are based on a spirit of mutual understanding and confidence, full coincidence of the two countries’ stances on many topical issues, including international and regional problems,” Abildayev said.  

According to him, Kazakhstan ’s authorities consider cooperation with neighboring countries priorities and main directions of it foreign policy irrespective of personal characters of their leaders.  

“We come out for strengthening regional stability and jointly address new challenges and threats,” Kazakh diplomat stressed.  

He also noted that Tajik-Kazakh cooperation, particular in the fields of mining, hydropower, construction and banking system, showed an upward tendency.

“Kazakhstan’s capital is entering more and more actively Tajikistan’s market and in this context, the forthcoming official visit of President Emomali Rahmonov to Kazakhstan set for May 4-5 will give a new impulse to further development of our investment contacts and facilitate realization of good potentials the two states have,” Abildayev stressed.  

During Rahmonov’s visit to Kazakhstan a series of bilateral documents, including government-to-government agreements on cooperation and exchange of information in the field of fight against economic crimes and violation of the countries’ customs laws, mutual protection of secret information, and international automotive communication, are supposed to signed. 

Besides, five other agreements are still being worked out, according to Kazakh diplomat.  In total, 50 agreements have been signed between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan since the time when the two countries gained independence.  At present many Kazakh companies are studying Tajikistan ’s market and considering in details the project that are of mutual interest.
