DUSHANBE, May 3, Asia-Plus - On Tuesday May 2, the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament), represented by Mr. Saydullo Khairulloyev, Speaker of the Majlisi Namoyandagon, and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), represented by Mr. William Paton, United Nations Resident Coordinator also UNDP Resident Representative, signed in Dushanbe an agreement on cooperation for 2006-2009, according to information from the Majlisi Oli (Tajik parliament).
Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Oli, has told Asia-Plus that under this agreement funded by the UNDP and the Swiss Agency for Cooperation training and seminars are organized for Tajik parliamentarians.
Besides, literature on national and international laws will be provided to Tajik parliament’s library. The agreement also provide for updating of Tajik parliament’s website, the Majlisi Oli spokesman said.
