KULOB, May 5, Asia-Plus - One of these days, community development committee in Temurmalik, Vose and Kulob districts, set up on initiative of the “OXFAM” international organization ( U.K. ), will receive three Belarus-made tractors.  

Ms. Sadbarg Mirova, responsible for the “Oxfam” agricultural project “Food Security” in Kulob, has told Asia-Plus that it is already the third year that this program has been implemented in those three districts, but agricultural machines are donated to farmers for the first time.   

According to her, the program targets 1,600 people from a dozen of villages in these districts.  “We provide those who have “presidential” lands and personal plots with seeds of wheat, potatoes, onions, beans, fruit trees seedlings,” Ms. Mirova said, noting to donation of tractors will allow resolving many problems arising during sowing and harvesting campaigns and transportation of harvests.  

In addition to tractors costing US$16,000 each they have also purchased trailers at US$10,000 each, according to the Asia-Plus interlocutor.  

In near future, farmers will have up-to-date plough equipment and other supplies.  “Besides, each of those villages targeted by the program has been provided with grain-purifying machine,” Sadbarg Mirova said, adding that one more agricultural project is nearing completion.  Under this project farmers will receive several other unit of agricultural machines.
