DUSHANBE, May 15, Asia-Plus -- The Government of Japan has pledged to support improvement of protection of health of mother and child in Tajikistan with providing US$2.6 million (JPY 300 million).
According to information from the Ministry of Health, the contribution is earmarked to support the children and women in the most remote of Tajikistan though purchasing necessary vaccines and basic medicines.
The source says it will improve the population’s access to the main medical services, enhance activity of structures of primary medical aid ad thereby promote sustainable and healthy development.
A ceremony of handover of the first bulk of medicines purchased for these funds will be held in Dushanbe on May 17. The recipients are the Republican Dyakov Hospital in Dushanbe and the Central District Hospital in Vahdat.
