DUSHANBE, May 15, Asia-Plus -- “Amonatbonk” (Tajikistan’s savings bank) has introduced the “Country-Express” money transfer system.
It is already the seventh money transfer system working in Tajik savings bank. The “Amonatbonk” source says this money transfer system charges 1.75 commission for remittances made in Russian rubles and 1.5 percent commission for transmittances in USD. The time of remittance of money is not more than 15 minutes.
The Russia-made “Country-Express” money transfer system is working in the whole area of the former Soviet Union, according to the source.
We will recall that 62 new money transfer units of the bank have been opened across Tajikistan since the beginning of the year, bring a total number of them to 145. 31.9 million Somonis have been transmitted via Amonatbonk over the first three months of this year. A total capital of Tajikistan’s savings bank (Amonatbonk) has doubled over a year and as of April 1 2006 the bank’s total capital has amounted to 18.3 million Somonis (equivalent US$5.7 million).
