, May 16, Asia-Plus - On Tuesday May 16, a protocol on initialing a bilateral agreement between Tajikistan and Ukraine on mutual recognition of licenses for construction activity was signed in Dushanbe between Matlub Khalifayev, Chairman of Tajikistan’s State Committee for Construction and Architecture, and Pavel Kachur , Ukraine ’s Minister of Construction and Architecture. 

“An agreement on mutual recognition of licenses for construction activity will be signed after coordination of it by the governments of the two countries,” Matlub Khalifayev told journalists following a protocol-signing ceremony.   He noted that the two countries had good potentials for expansion of further bilateral cooperation in the construction area, including building materials supplies.  

According to him, in the course of the talks they also considered issues related to cooperation between Tajikistan and Ukraine in developing subsidiary utility enterprises in Tajikistan .  

Ukrainian minister speaking to journalists noted that they also considered the possibility of exchange of specialists in architecture and training of personnel for Tajikistan .  

“The Ukrainian side is ready to participate in tenders announced by the Government of Tajikistan for the construction of new library’s building, new building for Tajik parliament as well as residential buildings in Tajikistan ,” Mr. Kachur noted.  

For his part, Matlub Khalifayev noted that the Tajik Government had provided US$129 million this year for the construction of social facilities.  “Besides, further some US$800 million have been endorsed by investment projects,” Tajik construction and architecture committee head noted.
