DUSHANBE , May 25, Asia-Plus -- Georgia and Tajikistan are currently in uneasy geopolitical situation, Georgian Deputy Prime Minister Georgy Baramidze remarked in Dushanbe on May 25 after the meeting of the CIS Council of the Heads of Government.   

  According to him, the two countries have good potentials to expand bilateral cooperation in various spheres of economy, including agriculture, industry and tourism. 

Georgia and Tajikistan are old friends and our peoples sympathize with each other,” said Baramidze, “These are ancient peoples with ancient cultures.”  

Georgian vice-premier said that during a meeting with Tajik Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov that was held Wednesday [May 24] they outlined many spheres for bilateral cooperation between Georgia and Tajikistan .  “We will undertake all efforts to remove obstacles on the way of expansion of cooperation between our businesspeople and development of entrepreneurship, “and the rest will depend on market economy and interests of the countries,” Baramidze noted.
