DUSHANBE, May 30, Asia-Plus -- Chief of the Border Service of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) Vladimir Pronichev will arrive in Dushanbe on May 31 for two-day working visit.
According to information from the Russian border service’s directorate in Tajikistan, Vladimir Pronichev will take part in an official ceremony of reorganization of the Russian Border Force in Tajikistan into the Russian Border Operational Group that will be held in Dushanbe on June 1.
Mikhail Orekhov, adviser to the Russian border service’s directorate in Tajikistan, has told Asia-Plus that the Russian Border Operational Group in Tajikistan will consist of 281 officers,
As it had been reported earlier, under the bilateral agreement that was signed on October 16, 2004, an operational group of the Federal Security Service will stay in Tajikistan to perform advisory functions, provide assistance to Tajik border guards in the effective border patrolling and training of the young generation of border guards.
