DUSAHNBE, June 9, Asia-Plus -- At present Tajikistan’s specialists are working on defining more precisely reserves of nepheline syenite deposits located in the Rasht Valley (eastern Tajikistan), Tajik Minister of Industry Zayd Saidov told journalists following an official opening of the “InterLegProm” exhibition in Dushanbe on June 8.  

“Development of these deposits requires serious investments,” said  Zayd Saidov, “At present the Ministry of Industry is creating necessary conditions and drafting investment project for development of these deposits.” 

Nepheline s yenite is a feldspar industrial mineral with many uses as soda ash for glass making, marine paints, fire proof roof shingles, dimensional stone for building and landscaping, alumina, cement, etc.

            According to data of the Ministry of Economy and Trade, the prospected reseves of nepheline syenite are enough for providing Tajik Aluminum Plant (TadAZ) with aluminum during som hundred years.
