DUSAHBE, June 9, Asia-Plus - Project Hope has delivered US$12.5 million in life-saving medicines to medical facilities in Tajikistan .

Ms. Malika Mahkamboyeva, project manager, has told Asia-Plus that the action was carried out within the framework of humanitarian aid program of Project Hope in Tajikistan under grant of the U.S. Department of State.  

Medicines, mainly including antibiotics, insulin, and supplies used to help fight cancer and heart diseases,  have been distributed to hospitals and medical facilities in Dushanbe, Khatlon province and districts subordinate to the center, according to Ms. Mahkamboyeva. 

She says that this is the second bulk of medical supplies delivered by Project hope to Tajikistan this year.  

“The first delivery of US$4.4 million in medical supplies to 15 hospitals and clinics in northern Tajikistan was made in February this year,” the project manager said.  According to her, the next delivery of a series of humanitarian gifts donated by the United States through Project Hope is expected to be made before the end of this year.
