Tajik Journalists’ Union makes arrangements for re-registration of its members

Union
is currently making arrangements for re-registration of its members. The re-registration process will start beginning on July 24.
According to information the union’s board, the main objective of the re-registration of the
Union
’s members is in defining an exact number of members of the
Union
as well as a number of its primary organizations.
Zafar Saidov, the head of the “Khovar” national news agency also member of the board of the Tajik Journalists’ Union, has told Asia-Plus that lately, the organization of the Union’s activity had been very poor and therefore “it is very difficult now to define the exact number of the Union’s members.” “In my opinion, it is absolutely right that the new head of the
Union
starts his work from these activities,” noted Mr. Saidov, “it will allow putting the registration process in order and attracting young journalists to the
Union
.”
The re-registration process is supposed to last till November 25, according to Zafar Saidov. He also noted that the Tajik Journalists’
Union
planned to establish “Home of Journalist”, where journalists could gather to discuss the most topical issues. Zafar Saidov also did not rule out the Journalists’
Union
would launch its website and establish its official newspaper in near future.
