DUSHANBE, August 9, Asia-Plus - Tajik law enforcement officials noted today that they have arrested the second criminal suspected of having been involved in terrorism, who managed to flee during a security raid in Isfara to arrest alleged members of the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IMU) on August 3.  

According to information from the Interior Ministry’s department for combating organized crime, the detainee is a 27-year-old resident of Isfara Faridoun Halimov, who is also suspected of being member of the IMU.  

We will recall that Orif Jalolov, an active member of the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IMU), blew himself up in the Tajik northern city of Isfara on August 3, killing one police officer and wounding another two.  As a result of the explosion chief of the squad for combating organized crime within the Isfara police directorate, Lieutenant-Colonel Ikrom Jalolov, was killed.  The explosion also killed Orif Jalolov, who was holding the RGDP-5 grenade.  Two police officers – deputy chief of the squad for combating organize crime, Iskandar Roziqov, and deputy commander of a rapid-reaction squad, Shamsiddin Naimov – were seriously injured and taken to the central district hospital in Isfara.
