DUSHANBE, September 20, Asia-Plus - In response to an invitation from Tajikistan’s Central Commission for Elections and Referenda (CCER), a commission of the CIS Executive Committee will arrive in Dushanbe on September 24-25.
Muhibullo Dodojonov, a spokesman for the CCER, says the commission is arriving in Tajikistan to set up a staff of the CSI election observation commission for the November 6 presidential election in Tajikistan. According to Dodojonov, the CIS election observation mission’s staff will include four representatives from each of the CIS states.
“All in all, at least 250 observers from the CIS states are expected to assess the entire electoral process in terms of its compliance with international standards and national legislation,” he said.
