DUSHANBE, November 6, Asia-Plus - Tajikistan’s Central Commission for Elections and Referenda (CCER) has said that today’s presidential election in the northern province of Sughd can be considered valid. 

According to the commission, 51.1 percent of voters participated in northern Tajikistan before 10:00 a.m.

According to the law, one vote over 50 percent is needed for the election to be deemed valid.  

In the Khatlon province, 47.1 percent of voters participated before 10:00 a.m., in the districts subordinate to the center 40.2 percent, in Dushanbe 30.4 percent and in Go49 percent.  

In all, 45.5 percent of voters across the republic participated before 10:00 a.m., according to the CCER.
