DUSHANBE, November 10, Asia-Plus -- “Taking into consideration that the country’s authorities are paying more and more attention to the issue of raising a role of women in society and political life of the country, the possibility of woman being appointed to the position of Prime Minister cannot be ruled out,” Abdughani Mamadazimov, the head of the National Association of Political Scientists of Tajikistan, said in an interview with Asia-Plus, commenting the future possible government reshuffle. However, Mamadazimov did not detail who it may be.
According to him, many persons are aspiring the position of Prime Minister, but most likely “ representative from the Sughd province will be appointed to this position.” “According to unquenchable agreement, representatives from northern Tajikistan have been appointed to the position of Prime Minister since the Nineties,” the political scientists’ association head said.
He supposes that the president may possibly shuffle some 50% of the government officials. “I believe that the president will change the present composition of the government,” said Mamadazimov, “Serious changes may take place in the structures of ministries and committees as well. Some of them may be merged into others.”
On priorities and main directions of activity of the new government, the political scientist pointed to the necessity of intensifying the fight against corruption.
