DUSHANBE, November 23, Asia-Plus -- Tajik Journalists’ Union is restoring and expanding its cooperation with foreign colleagues.
A source at the union said that they had restored ties, first of all, with the CIS International Confederation of Journalists’ Unions. The head of Tajik Journalists’ Union, Akbarali Sattorov, is expected to meet with the executive secretary of the CIS International Confederation of Journalists’ Unions, Ashot Jazoyan, in Moscow at the end of November.
“The meeting is aiming to focus on ways of further integration of Tajik journalists’ union into international journalistic community, as well as issues related to seeking the organization a single information space” said the source, “Besides, our union plans to organize Days of International Journalists’ Confederation in Tajikistan.”
According to the source, the journalists’ union seeks to promote further development of journalism in the country and enable Tajik journalists to have an opportunity to participate in various international contests to raise their professionalism.
