DUSHANBE, November 24, Asia-Plus - Police from the Farkhor police directorate yesterday intercepted more than 30 kilograms of drugs, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) reported.
A source at a MoI said that the Farkhor detained Afghan citizen Sobit valadi Mahmadhasan near the border village of Pushtqoq late Thursday. 23 kilograms of cannabis and 10 kilograms of heroin were confiscated from him. Investigation is under way
According to the MoI, Tajik police have intercepted more than 2,047 kilograms of drugs, with 1,093 kilograms of them being heroin, over the past ten months. 639 people, including 60 women and 22 Afghan citizens, have been arrested over the same ten-month period on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking, the source said.
