DUSHANBE, December 4, Asia-Plus -- An exhibition of goods manufactured by participants in the “Support for Participation of Women of Tajikistan in Development of Entrepreneurship” project will open at the Kokhi Vahdat State Complex in Dushanbe on December 5. Participation in this fair will be a good investment for Tajik female entrepreneurs.
According to the Tajik Branch of Open Society Institute/Assistance Foundation (OSI/AF), the project has focused on social adaptation of women to conditions of engendering market economy. The main objective of the project was in providing women’s access to new sources of income through through launching private business.
A source at the Tajik Branch of OSI/AF said that 33 women from Khatlon, districts subordinate to the center (RRP) and Dushanbe have participated in the project and obtained necessary knowledge to launch and successfully run their own businesses.
“A special attention was paid to stability of microprojects and mechanisms to overcome gender barriers in entrepreneurship,” the source said, noting that the results of a joint activity of female entrepreneurs, consulting group, expert board and partners from France’s NGO Communication to Europe (CCE) will be presented at the final conference.
