DUSHANBE, December 7, Asia-Plus - Sharifkhon Samiyev, head of Barqi Tojik (Tajik electric systems) power holding, today morning left for the site for Santuda-1 hydropower plant. A government commission led by the First Deputy Prime Minister, Asadullo Ghulomov, has been working there for already four days.
A source at Barqi Tojik said that the commission and the management for the construction of Sangtuda-1 power station have not yet reached agreement on a date of damming the Vakhsh River. “Bad weather conditions have probably affected the work on damming the river,” said the source, “Recent snowfalls have complicated the work on concreting two drainage tunnels.”
The source added that the issue of fixing a date for damming the river should be solved by the end of this week.
