DUSHANBE, December 8, Asia-Plus -- A republican scientific-practical conference formally titled “Freedom of Speech: Formation of Modern Media Policy” is opening in Dushanbe today.
Organizers of the conference are Russian-Tajik Slavic University (RTSU), the OSCE Center in Dushanbe, Tajikistan’s National News Agency Khovar, Journalists’ Union and the National Association of Independent Media of Tajikistan (Nansmit).
The conference that has brought together researchers and teachers from Tajik National University, RTSU, post-graduate students and journalists is aiming to consider issues of problems of freedom of speech and globalization of information process, as well various aspects of state of the freedom of speech in Tajikistan, etc.
Participants at the conference are also discussing issues of preparation and studying of reports and problems of glasnost in Tajik media.
