DUSHANBE, January 9, Asia-Plus -- Relationship between Poland and Tajikistan has always been and remains friendly and both countries support each other on international arena in the fight against terrorism, Sebastian Ozhel (phonetically spelled), First Secretary, Polish Embassy in Tajikistan (residence in Tashkent, Uzbekistan), said in an interview with Asia-Plus yesterday.  

On the aspects of bilateral cooperation between Poland and Tajikistan, Polish diplomat, in particular, hailed a level of cultural relations between the two countries.  According to him, Polish lecturers are working at Tajik higher educational institutions and the student exchange programs are being implemented.  Specialists from Poland are working in a number of international organizations active in Tajikistan.  

Ozhel noted that his country also plans to expand economic cooperation with Tajikistan.  “At present Tajik-Polish joint venture, limited liability company TadPolTex, functions in Tajikistan,” said Polish diplomat, “More than 100 Tajiks have been employed at this venture.”  He also noted that he would like to invite Tajik specialists to attend industrial exhibitions in Poland.   

According to him, the Polish side is also ready to cooperate with the Tajikistan in the field of construction and Polish companies could participate in the construction projects in Tajikistan.  

Asked about opening of the Polish Embassy in Dushanbe, Ozhel said that the work on this subject is under way.  “The Polish Embassy may possibly be opened in Dushanbe within the next two-three years,” said the diplomat, “Especially as the Tajik side is ready for this and it remains to resolve a few technical issues.”
