DUSHANBE, March 15, Asia-Plus - The first day of an official two-day visit of Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev to Tajikistan yielded a series of bilateral cooperation documents.
Azerbaijan’s head of state arrived in Dushanbe on March 15. The same day, Aliyev met with Tajik President Emomali Rahmonov.
Their bilateral meeting was followed by an enlarged meeting with participation of the government delegations of the two countries was held.
The enlarged meeting produced 11 documents, including the agreement on friendship and cooperation as well as a series of bilateral agreements in culture, tourism, visa-free travels of citizens of the two countries, commerce and trade, customs cooperation, protection of mutual investments, standardization, metrology and certification cooperation. Tajikistan and Azerbaijan also signed agreements on cooperation in the fields of international automotive communications, rail transportation and aerial communication.
During his stay in Dushanbe, Aliyev is also scheduled to hold talks with Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov and the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament) Speaker Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev.
It is the first official visit of Azerbaijan’s head of state to Tajikistan.
