DUSHANBE, April 19, Asia-Plus -- On Wednesday April 18, outgoing Chinese Ambassador to Tajikistan Li Huilai conferred with President Emomali Rahmon at the end of his tenure to Tajikistan, according to presidential press service.
Abdufattoh Sharifzoda, a spokesman for the Tajik president, said that in the course of the talks President Rahmon had said that Tajikistan attaches significant importance to cooperation with China in its foreign policy.
Rahmon highly appraised activity of Chinese diplomat in Tajikistan, noting that during his serving as ambassador to Tajikistan a new stage of relations between the two countries had started, according to the spokesman. The president also said that Li had made a considerable contribution to large projects being implemented in Tajikistan with attraction of Chinese investments. Referring to good relations between the two countries, he called for expansion of economic and trade cooperation.
For his part, Li noted that he will continue taking efforts to promote further expansion of friendly relations between the two countries in future as well.
