DUSAHNBE, June 2, Asia-Plus -- Tajikistan and India will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoI) on rehabilitation of a 7.4 MW Varzob-1 hydropower plant in Dushanbe in the near future, Asia-Plus has learned at the ministry of energy and industries (MoEI).
The source at a MoEI said that the Government of Tajikistan on May 31 endorsed the memorandum Tajik Energy and Industries Minister Sherali Gulov and Indian Ambassador to Tajikistan Omar Singh will ink it.
The source added that the Government of India had granted an assistance of US$13 million for rehabilitating the Varzob-1 power plant.
