DUSHANBE, June 4, Asia-Plus -- The 21st session of the council of heads of tax services at the Integration Committee of the Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC) and the 12th session of the coordinating council of heads of the CIS tax services were jointly held in Russia’s Kazan on June 1-2.
Tajikistan was represented at that two-day session by Bakhtiyor Sultonov, the deputy head of the Tax Committee, and Ravshan Madaminov, the head of the department for international ties of the Tax Committee.
The source at the tax committee said that the session had summed up the results of work carried out by the EAEC council of heads of tax services in 2006 and analyzed activities of tax systems. Participants at the session also shared their experiences in putting in practice indirect methods of tax collection for controlling entities of shadow economy and discussed organization of exchange of information between the tax services.
Besides, they touched upon issues related to joint control over production and circulation of ethyl alcohol and alcohol drinks and discussed issues of preventing tax payment evasion and protecting information being communicated between tax services of member nations of CIS.
The session also discussed recommendations on improvement of a system of small business taxation.
