KHUJAND, August 29, Asia-Plus-- This year, 249 school leavers from the Sughd province, including 113 young women, have entered Tajik higher educational institutions by presidential quota, Rustamjon Usmonov, the head of the department for science, higher and secondary educational institutions of the Sughd regional government, announced at a briefing in Khujand on August 28.

                According to him, they have entered eight higher educational institutions in Dushanbe and two higher educational institutions in Khujand.  “it is to be noted that by request of Sughd authorities 25-student quota has been allotted for school leavers from the province at Tajik Medical University this year,” Usmonov said.  

In all, 1,380 young people, including 900 young women, from the Sughd province now study at Tajik higher educational institutions by presidential quota.
