DUSHANBE, January 9, Asia-Plus -- Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) is expected to host a roundtable meeting on January 11 to discuss establishment of free economic zones in Tajikistan.
The source at a CCI said that the meeting would bring together senior representatives from the Ministry of Economic Development and trade, State Committee for investments and Management of State-owned Property as well as President’s Executive Office to discuss issues related to establishment of free economic zones in Tajikistan.
We will recall that during his visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) last April, President Emomali Rahmon noted that Tajikistan intended to establish three free economic zones.
Last summer, the president held a meeting with participation of heads of relevant ministries and organizations to discuss establishment of the free economic zones in Gorno Badakhshan, Khatlon and Sughd provinces.
