According to him, the radar speed guns have been purchased in the Russian Federation. He said that these radar speed guns not only measure a cars speed but also produce unchallengeable proofs of driver’s fault.
“Video camera and computer built in the radar allow measuring exact speed of car and recording its number plate,” the Tajik traffic police chief said, adding that several mobile units of the traffic police in Dushanbe were already equipped with the new radar speed guns.
Colonel Kholov also noted that the traffic police checkpoint on the Fakhrobod pass, on the 32nd kilometer of the highway from Dushanbe to Qurghon Teppa, had been renovated.
A new two-story building, meeting all necessary requirements, has been constructed at the post. “The Fakhrobod checkpoint post is provided with all necessary furniture, office equipment and the equipment to measure a cars speed,” said Kholov, “The post also has database about hijacked vehicles and persons whose names are on a police-wanted list.”
